French Day 4: Numbers 10,20,...100

Here are the numbers from 10 to 100 in French (English):

  • 10: Dix (Ten)
  • 20: Vingt (Twenty)
  • 30: Trente (Thirty)
  • 40: Quarante (Forty)
  • 50: Cinquante (Fifty)
  • 60: Soixante (Sixty)
  • 70: Soixante-dix (Sixty-ten, or Seventy)
  • 80: Quatre-vingts (Four twenties, or Eighty)
  • 90: Quatre-vingt-dix (Four twenties-ten, or Ninety)
  • 100: Cent (One hundred)
In French, numbers above sixty use a base-twenty system, so it's common to see numbers like seventy (soixante-dix) as "sixty-ten" or eighty (quatre-vingts) as "four twenties."
